Enrollment is easy. You don't need to do anything!

As an eligible customer, you will automatically be enrolled into NOPEC’s Standard Program option and do not need to take any further action to receive exclusive member pricing for your home or business. This makes it easy and convenient for you to take advantage of being a member of your community's aggregation.

NOPEC also provides the flexibility to choose other rate options so you can choose the program that best fits your needs. See additional program options below.

Additional Program Options

You have the flexibility to choose other program options. NOPEC also offers a Monthly Variable Price program, 12 or 24-month fixed term options, and even 100% renewable content options.

Standard Program

NOPEC is NOT an extra charge on your utility bill.

In Ohio, utility bills are split into two costs, the supply charge and the transmission fee. The supply charge covers the cost of the energy that you use. The transmission fees come from your utility for delivering the energy to your home or business.

Even if you do not choose to remain with NOPEC for your energy supply, you would still have to pay an energy supplier for the amount of energy you use per month.

As a NOPEC customer, you pay for the electricity or natural gas supply that you use. There are no additional fees. NOPEC receives no public funds, and its member communities are not charged any dues or fees. The chair and members of the Board of Directors serve without compensation. NOPEC’s administrative expenses, such as the cost of the opt-out mailings, staffing, and expenses, are paid by fees from the energy suppliers.

NOPEC is a Council of Governments representing our member communities. We give all of our customers an opportunity to opt-out of NOPEC at anytime without any termination fees or penalties. To control operating costs, we do not pay postage costs to mail in an opt-out notice.

All consumers who do not opt-out are enrolled for a period of two years for natural gas and three years for electricity, after which they can be given another opportunity to opt-out. There are no termination fees, however, if you decide to opt-out at a later date. For more information, contact NOPEC's Customer Care Center at 855.667.3201 (855-NOPEC-01).
