Village of Plain City Residents & Small Businesses to Receive NOPEC Electric and Natural Gas Enrollment Letters

The Village of Plain City has joined NOPEC’s aggregation program for electric and natural gas. Residents and small businesses will be able to take advantage of electric and natural gas supply rates negotiated exclusively for NOPEC customers beginning with their July usage.

Eligible customers will soon receive enrollment letters in the mail that explain NOPEC’s program options and rates, along with providing customers the option to opt out of the aggregation programs. NOPEC is required by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to send these enrollment letters to all eligible residential and small business customers in NOPEC member communities.

To enroll, you do not need to take any action. All eligible customers will automatically be enrolled in NOPEC’s Standard Program Price unless they choose one of NOPEC’s other program options. Other options include a monthly variable rate that is a discounted rate off the utility’s Standard Choice Offer for natural gas or Price-to-Compare for electric, 12- or 24-month fixed-term options, and 100% renewable electric options. For more information on product choices, visit www.nopec.org or call NOPEC’s 24/7 Customer Care Center at 855-NOPEC01 (855-667-3201).

There will be no disruption of service during this switch. Only the supply of electricity and/or natural gas will be provided by NOPEC. Your local electric and natural gas utility companies will continue to deliver service, read meters, issue bills, and restore power after outages. Customers will still receive a single bill from their electric or natural gas utility.

Once enrolled into the aggregation program, NOPEC/NextEra Energy Services should begin appearing as the new supplier on customers’ utility bills beginning with their July usage.

If residents do not wish to participate in NOPEC’s aggregation, they must notify NOPEC by filling out and mailing back the opt-out form attached to the enrollment letter. The opt-out form can also be faxed to 440-774-4422. The opt-out form must be returned no later than the date indicated in their letter.

If you have additional questions about the enrollment process or NOPEC’s aggregation programs, please contact NOPEC’s Customer Care Center at 855-667-3201. NOPEC’s customer care team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer your questions.
