Electric Enrollment Letter
In April, eligible residents and small businesses in NOPEC member communities will receive an enrollment letter providing information about their community's electric aggregation program for the enrollment period beginning with their June 2026 meter read date. The letter details the Standard Program Price, other rate options available to you, and how to opt-out of the aggregation program if you choose to do so.
Enrolling is easy. You don't need to do anything!
As an eligible customer, you will automatically be enrolled into NOPEC’s Standard Program Price option. You do not need to take any further action to receive exclusive member pricing for your home or business. This makes it easy and convenient for you to take advantage of being a member of your community's aggregation.
NOPEC also provides the flexibility to choose other rate options so you can select the program that best fits your needs. See additional program options below.

Frequently Asked Questions
You have two options: do nothing and let NOPEC negotiate competitive electric rates exclusively for you, or opt out. If you choose not to stay enrolled with NOPEC, then just return the opt-out form included with your enrollment letter to opt out of the program. But there are plenty of reasons to stay!
No. In Ohio, utility bills are split into two costs, the supply charge and the transmission fee. NOPEC uses its bulk purchasing power to negotiate lower supply rates. This shows up on your bill as the supply charge and covers the cost of the energy you used. The transmission fees come from your utility for delivering the energy to your home or business.
As a NOPEC customer, you pay for the electricity that you use. There are no additional fees. NOPEC receives no public funds, and its member communities are not charged any dues or fees. NOPEC's administrative expenses, such as the cost of the opt-out mailings, staffing, and programs, are paid by fees from NOPEC's energy supply partner.
When a community joins NOPEC, all eligible accounts within that community are automatically enrolled as a part of the aggregation program, unless a resident chooses to opt out by returning the opt-out form enclosed with their enrollment letter. This makes it easy and convenient for you to take advantage of being a member of your community's aggregation.

Green Community Choice is an optional program that NOPEC member communities can choose to participate in.
