Describe your prior experience working in the nonprofit, government, and/or public service fields.
I began my public service career as an Elyria City Council At Large member in 2007 and 2008. Following this, I served on the Elyria Schools Board of Education from 2016 to 2019. My dedication to the community continued as I took on the role of Elyria Assistant Safety Service Director from 2011 to 2019, and then Elyria Safety Service Director from 2020 to 2022. In 2022, I transitioned to the position of Avon Lake Public Works Director, where I served until 2023. Currently, I am the Mayor of Elyria, a position I have held since 2024.
What drew you to NOPEC's Board of Directors?
The positive leadership and the teamwork within the organization, as well as the benefit of NOPEC to its member communities.
Describe your role at NOPEC and how you hope to help NOPEC communities in the future.
I'd like to see growth within the membership by sharing the value NOPEC brings to the community, and to use my leadership skills and public engagement to promote NOPEC.
