Garett Lucius
Marketing Assistant
Describe your prior experience working in the nonprofit, government, and/or public service fields.
This is my first role in public service. I grew up in Uniontown, Ohio and attended Otterbein University. I graduated in May 2025 with a degree in Journalism and Media Communication. I am excited to be with NOPEC to use my skillset in service of others.
Why did you decide to join the NOPEC team?
Once I received an offer to work with NOPEC there was no doubt in my mind that this was the place I wanted to work. NOPEC's mission of public service and bettering its communities is one that I feel is of great value and has allowed me to take pride in my work so far.
Describe your role at NOPEC and how you hope to help NOPEC communities in the future.
As marketing assistant at NOPEC, I act as a sort of jack-of-all-trades within the marketing department. I assist in the creation of content for our social media channels, website, and other marketing collateral. Additionally, I write the blogs that appear on the NOPEC website and assist in community outreach events. I think my role ultimately is to assist in educating residents in our communities on energy aggregation and how NOPEC acts as an advocate for the people when it comes to the energy industry.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy watching and talking about sports. I co-host a podcast with my dad about soccer and motorsports. Additionally, I enjoy reading fantasy novels and am a history buff, specifically in Irish history. If I'm not doing those things I'm probably running or listening to music.
