Cell Phone Charging Station Program
Program Details
NextEra, NOPEC's energy supplier, is providing cell phone charging stations for use in public spaces, such as libraries and community centers, within NOPEC member communities.
Grant Application Requirements
Any NOPEC member community may apply to receive one of the three types of units below. However, there is a limited number of charging stations available in 2019.
Each application will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis and final award determination will include an evaluation of the site location. NOPEC will be performing site visits to assess if the chosen charging station is the right fit for the requested location.
If approved to receive a station, the community will be required to sign a grant agreement agreeing to the terms and conditions of receiving a charging station. Copies of the grant agreement are available for review upon request by emailing Tony Ramos at aramos@nopec.org. NOPEC will assist your community with delivery and installation once a unit has been awarded.

Types of Charging Stations
Below you will find the three different types of stations that are available. Each station is designed for a specific type of location and the criteria is listed below.
Bay Secured Locker Style Station
This station can charge all types of phones and tablets and is easy to move with lockable casters. Each locker bay locks and keeps contents safe. Users will receive a temporary lock code when using the station.
BEST FOR: Community Centers, Sports Arenas, Community Fitness Centers, Parks and Recreation facilities, and other buildings that experience high volumes of foot traffic.
High Top Table Unsecured Style Station
This station can charge all types of phones and tablets and is easy to move with an optional tether-style lock to prevent movement from where it is placed. Station has wired and wireless charging capabilities.
BEST FOR: Senior Centers, Community Centers, Lobbies, Libraries, waiting rooms/areas.
Coffee Table Type Unsecured Style Station
This station can charge all types of phones and tablets and is easy to move with an optional tether-style lock to prevent movement from where it is placed. Station has wired and wireless charging capabilities.
BEST FOR: Senior Centers, Community Centers, Lobbies, Libraries, waiting rooms/areas.
