Executive Senior Associate,
During the time Leigh Herington served in the Ohio Senate (1995-2003) he was designated as one of the seven members of the legislature to bring electric deregulation to Ohio. During that time, Senator Herington worked very closely with the members of the Senate and the House to help make this legislation “right” for Ohio. NOPEC hired him in 2006 to become the organization’s first employee and Executive Director. During his tenure as Executive Director he worked on behalf of all residential and small business electric and natural gas customers in Ohio to give them choice through opt-out governmental aggregation opportunities.
